A word from Mike:
Thanks for dropping by our website.  My wife, Caroline and I have lived in SC all our lives.  We have 4 children.

After graduation from law school, Caroline and I married and joined a local church in Lexington.  I had been a Christian since a young age, but became more committed to my church.  We had a good life, and God blessed us with our four children.  I practiced law day in and day out for about 15 years.

Eventually, God made it very clear to me that I needed to serve as a pastor.  I closed my law practice and prepared for ministry.  Many people have asked me about that transition.  I won’t say it has always been easy.  But I believe it’s better to do what God tells you, rather than fighting against Him.  Our time in ministry has been an incredible experience.  We’ve served several churches in SC, and been blessed to enjoy so many relationships in each one.  We’ve been here in Florence since 2008.  I love serving God in His local church.  I’m convinced that a big part of God’s plan for everyone is local church membership.

Now that you know a little about me, I’d like to invite you  to attend Calvary.  Then, I can get to know you better, and we can get to know Jesus better together.  Once, a man asked Jesus about the most important commandment.  Jesus gave him the two greatest commands in response.  He said the first is to love the Lord your God with all you heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength.  The second, he said, is similar.  Love your neighbor as yourself.  So as we here at Calvary value our relationship with God, we also place a high value on our relationship with you, our neighbors.  We invite you to join us for one of our services, and look forward to seeing you soon.  Thanks again for stopping by.
