If you could sit down and have a conversation with someone from the past who would it be? My Dad, Jim Mills

A word from Mike: Thanks for dropping by our website. My wife, Caroline and I have lived in SC all our lives. We have 4 children, Taylor and Bailey, who are young adults out on their own now, and Colin and Callie who are both college students.

After graduation from law school, Caroline and I married and joined a local church in Lexington. I had been a Christian since a young age, but became more committed to my church. We had a good life, and God blessed us with our four children. I practiced law day in and day out for about 15 years.

Eventually, God made it very clear to me that I needed to serve as a pastor. I closed my law practice and prepared for ministry. Many people have asked me about that transition. I won’t say it has always been easy. But I believe it’s better to do what God tells you, rather than fighting against Him. Our time in ministry has been an incredible experience. We’ve served several churches in SC, and been blessed to enjoy so many relationships in each one. We’ve been here in Florence since 2008. I love serving God in His local church. I’m convinced that a big part of God’s plan for everyone is local church membership.

Now that you know a little about me, I’d like to invite you to attend Calvary. Then, I can get to know you better, and we can get to know Jesus better together. Once, a man asked Jesus about the most important commandment. Jesus gave him the two greatest commands in response. He said the first is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength. The second, he said, is similar. Love your neighbor as yourself. So as we here at Calvary value our relationship with God, we also place a high value on our relationship with you, our neighbors. We invite you to join us for one of our services, and look forward to seeing you soon. Thanks again for stopping by.

A word from Eddie: I have the privilege of working with all ages here at Calvary in developing life-long disciples of Jesus through outreach in our community. I enjoy working with our volunteers at our Good News Club at McLaurin Elementary School, with our Closet Ministry and soon will be working with volunteers through Family Promise. God instructs us to go and tell about Him and these ministries give us a platform to do just that.

If you could sit down and have a conversation with someone from the past who would it be?: Jesus would be my first answer, but someone other than Jesus, I would want to sit down and talk with Charles Spurgeon.

A word from Landon: I desire to see God’s people grow in true, authentic worship of Him, realizing that our worship is not only found in the pews of the church. Rather, it is an expression of a life that brings glory to God, is rooted in Jesus, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
