The South Carolina Immunization Certificate may be obtained from your child’s physician or from the Health Department

Curriculum

We believe that curriculum includes everything that happens in a preschool environment. It reflects the interests, needs, abilities, and natural learning styles of children. Our program fits the children! Balance is necessary to nurture well-adjusted children. We are committed to meeting the needs of the total child—spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally. The Wee Learn Curriculum Guide is written for each age level and includes methods and materials for planning Bible, language, math, science, art, music, small motor, large motor, and nutrition activities for children. Our staff is always at work planning a challenging, developmentally appropriate, and Christian program for our children.

Music

Music is a wonderful teaching tool and a vital part of our program. Children enjoy listening to tapes and CDs, singing, playing musical games, and experimenting with rhythm instruments.

Creative Expression

Now is the time to develop creative abilities in our little folks. We provide opportunities for experimenting with various art materials as well as time for puppets and dramatic play.

Physical Education

Each day, the children participate in Differentiated Instruction through free play activities including block building, puzzles, home living, and various center activities. All of these aids fine motor development and other developmental areas. For development of large muscles, we enjoy time outside each day as well as action CD’s and games.

Readiness Program

Our goal is to develop each child to his fullest potential in all areas. We use a multisensory reading readiness approach. Through a variety of visual, auditory, and tactile/kinesthetic group and one-to-one activities, we can build language experiences needed for preschoolers to have confidence with words. We use the major approaches, whole-word, phonetics, and language experiences to provide children with the foundation, skills, and attitudes to be successful readers when they are ready. For number readiness the children are actively involved with materials and make hands on discoveries using tiles, blocks, cubes, manipulatives, collections, and measuring devices. Over the year, the children will work with patterns, sorting, classifying, measurement and numerals.

Extracurricular Activities

Field trips are enjoyed throughout the year to enlarge the children’s world and expose them to real experiences outside of the classroom. Trips are made on the church bus with a CDL licensed driver. Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in these opportunities.
